The "Real" Hawaiian Shirt Begins

I've ironed my fashion fabric and my pattern pieces. My first cut was the 'hockey stick' collar I first tried on the muslin. Here's the piece on the right side.


And here's the wrong side with the fusible interface ironed in place. Ironing is something of a care for this piece. It's important to assure that the fabric and the interfacing are completely flat. This may mean that some of the glue from the fusible may end up on the ironing board, but hey...


And lastly, here is what the collar looks like roughly folded with the seam in the middle of the collar. It will be located on the back underside of the collar, leaving the tips of the collar as folded edges rather than seamed edges.
