The shell is a waterproof resin material. The lining is a heavy cotton upholstery. I sewed the "D" rings directly into the coatr to eliminate the need for a harness under the coat. The heavy 4" band around the chest is secured with 2" velcro strips. 18lb dogs aren't a match for velcro. I used my new Sailrite LSZ-1 walking foot sewing machine to make these coats. The Sailrite had no problem sewing through the thickness of resin material and fabric.
