RS-WS Calamity

Have you ever done something so totally dumb you wonder 'what was I thinking?' Then you realize, you couldn't have been thinking at all.  I regret to inform you that there will be no post describing cuffs for the linen shirt.
As you can see, my shirt is now a comfortable short sleeve summer shirt.  One of the problems of working with solid weaves is that it's real easy to reverse the RS-WS to become WS-RS.  That is just what I did with one of the sleeves of my shirt.  There was no taking it apart after having serged the seam allowances and then sewn them down to make a faux felled seam.  Too bad I didn't check the plackets to see if they were facing in the same direction before sewing anything.  I started to measure for the cuffs when it hit me.  One placket was outside the sleeve and the other inside.  On a positive note, I need two less buttons.

G'night.

  2. Been there, done that, on more than just the sleeves........collar, button placket, even sewing the sleeves to the wrong side of the bodice!!!

  3. Oh boy. Lost dog. I'd sew 100 sleeves on upside down, inside out if it prolonged the lives of my beloved Westie. I can live with my stupid mistakes but I can't imagine life without my girls.
